About the class
This is a beginner-friendly, hands-on build: you will make a pineapple tenor ukulele from rough stock to a finished, playable instrument. The pineapple shape isn't just charming — its gentle curves make the side bends easier, which is exactly what a first-time builder wants.
To keep the build approachable we skip the fussy parts: no binding, no rosette, a flat back, and a simple dowel neck joint. You do every major operation yourself: bracing the top and back plates, bending the sides, assembling the rim, closing the body, fitting the neck and fretboard, finishing, and final setup.
The instructor supplies completed necks and fretboards — the most precision-critical parts — so every student starts that stage on equal footing and nobody's build stalls on a bad neck.
